Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono

Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono opened in early 2020 as the third Park Hyatt property in Japan, designed by architecture firm Nikken Sekkei with interiors by Melbourne studio BAR. The building’s structure, interiors and landscaping were conceived together, taking full advantage of views across the Annupuri range and Mount Yotei. Nine of the property’s 28 suites include a private onsen hot spring bath, and the hotel displays contemporary artworks by Anish Kapoor and Romain Langlois throughout its public spaces, giving it a distinct identity among Niseko’s accommodation options.

The atmosphere reflects Park Hyatt’s usual emphasis on personalised service in an intimate setting rather than scale, with only 100 rooms and suites across four low-rise buildings. Guests move between the spa, a 25 metre indoor pool, three restaurants and an onsen sourced from the surrounding region, with the resort’s design shifting in character between Hokkaido’s winter and summer seasons.

For golf travellers, the resort sits adjacent to Hanazono Golf, with guests granted priority access to tee times at the course, removing a common booking obstacle during Niseko’s short summer season. The wider Niseko area places three golf courses, including Niseko Village Golf Course and the Arnold Palmer-designed Niseko Golf Course, within a short drive, making the property a practical base for a multi-course Hokkaido golf itinerary.
