Kawaguchiko Country Club is one of Japan’s finest mountain golf clubs, located in the Fuji Five Lakes region on the northern slopes of Mount Fuji. Fairways are generously proportioned but bordered by mature trees, while the course’s remarkable bunker network continually influences strategy from the tee through to the greens. The East Course contains several of the club’s most memorable holes, including the distinctive sixth, where a Y shaped split green creates multiple approach options and one of the most unique putting surfaces in Japanese golf. The South Course complements the outward nine with a slightly more open character while maintaining the same emphasis on strategic bunkering and precise approach play.
