ANA InterContinental Tokyo occupies a 37 storey triangular tower in Akasaka, a setting shaped by nearly four decades of hosting Japanese corporate and diplomatic guests. Its scale sets it apart, with 22 event spaces, 13 restaurants including a two Michelin starred outpost from Pierre Gagnaire, and a 600 square metre Club InterContinental lounge on the 35th floor, one of the largest hotel lounges in Japan.
The atmosphere shifts by floor. The atrium lobby, with ceilings rising 14 metres, carries the pace of the streets outside, while the upper level lounge offers a quieter vantage point over the city. Rooms were refreshed in a full renovation completed in December 2024, giving the property a more contemporary feel while retaining its long standing service reputation.
For golfers, the appeal lies in location rather than on site facilities. Tokyo courses in Chiba, Saitama and Kanagawa are all reachable by car or train from Akasaka, making the hotel a practical base for pairing a day on the fairways with the city’s dining and business districts. The 24 hour fitness centre and business centre also suit travellers combining golf with work commitments in Tokyo.
