The first golf club in Africa was Royal Cape Golf Club, formerly known as ‘Cape Golf Club.’ Its origins extend to 1885, where the beginnings of Africa’s golf scene were established with views of nearby Table Mountain. The golf course at Royal Cape has evolved successfully over time into a parkland, 18-hole route with a proven track record. The Golf Club has hosted the Cape Town Open since 2021 and 10 previous South African Opens.
