Situated in the Western Cape wine region of South Africa, Erinvale Golf Club is one of the best golf residential estates on the continent. Within a tranquil gated community with towering mountains and stunning surrounding countryside, Erinvale Golf Club is a must-do experience if you visit South Africa. A parkland and resort layout, Erinvale Golf Course was designed by legendary golf-great Gary Player; a fantastic 18-hole layout that has golfers returning all the time. The Estate is only 30-minutes from Cape Town; we highly recommend adding this course to your South African golf holiday. Erinvale Golf Club opened in 1995 so it is a relatively new course. Gary Player designed the layout with two distinctly different nines. The opening nine winds its way through narrow fairways flanked by exquisite properties, blending in perfectly with the landscape and environment. The second nine follows a route directly below the Helderberg mountain range and offers the most rewarding and magnificent views over False Bay, surrounding vineyards, olive groves and Helderberg Nature Reserve.
The course hosted the 1996 World Cup of Golf and the second oldest tournament in the world, the prestigious SAA Open in 2003 and 2004. Erinvale’s course maintenance is phenomenal and it looks fantastic year-round. The greens are protected by well-placed bunkers and water features, while often narrow approach shots add further challenges to your round. A true championship course, Erinvale is one of South Africa’s golfing gems.
Clubhouse & Shop
Being a resort-style course, Erinvale’s facilities are world-class. The clubhouse is ideally situated in the centre of The Estate, with fantastic views over the golf course, surrounding mountains, vineyard and the ocean. Within the clubhouse, The Terrace Restaurant and Bar offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is the go-to spot for golfers before and after their round. The half-way house for golfers offers (where in SA a compulsory break is the norm), a selection of light meals, sandwiches and refreshments are on hand with quick, attentive service. The Pro Shop is located in The Clubhouse and offers an international selection of clothing, shoes, bags, accessories and clubs. It offers rental equipment including golf carts, pull trolleys and rental clubs.
Practice Facilities
A full-length driving range with complimentary range balls awaits you at Erinvale Golf Club. There are two putting greens: one is located at the driving range and the other is in front of The Clubhouse. A pitching area & green with a practice bunker also awaits at the driving range.
