Simola Golf Estate’s Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course is unique. With a par of 72, the golf course plays as a parkland course with five par-5’s and five par-3’s. Jack Nicklaus, also known as the ‘Golden Bear,’ is known for his tendency to mould golf courses to its natural surroundings. The natural topography at Simola Golf Resort is fantastic. Elevation changes, inland lakes, sweeping bunkers and native trees create robust golf course foundations.
The test for skill offered at Simola Estate is demanding from the back tees, but enjoyable from the front tees. There are three sets of tees to choose from on the golf course. Wind is rarely a factor due to the golf course being inland, but the main challenge comes from grade variations from tees to greens and on the greens themselves. Being a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course is an accomplishment, and Simola Golf Estate prides itself on the fact.

The Simola Golf Estate lies in the centre of South Africa’s Garden Route. The best way to experience the Resort is a multi-night stay while passing through on a self-drive or escorted golf package. We recommend starting at either Port Elizabeth or Cape Town, with Simola in the middle. For those wanting to experience Simola Golf Estate on its own, George Airport is located 60-minutes’ drive west from the estate, while Port Elizabeth lies just under 3-hours’ direct drive to the east.
