Originally designed by Gary Player, Fancourt’s Montagu course has developed into one of the finest 18-hole parkland layouts, earning it the number 8 position on Golf Digest SA’s list of top golf courses in the country. Exquisitely conditioned to provide a riveting golfing experience, this tree-lined course covers large tracts of varying terrain on rolling land. A detailed stroke saver takes golfers through the course, providing distance measurements and images that assist players with navigating the course. A warm-up area, featuring a full-length range and a chipping and bunker practice area, is available to golfers before play. The Montagu golf course features in our Fancourt week-long golf package.

Exquisitely conditioned to provide a riveting golfing experience, this tree-lined course covers large tracts of varying terrain on rolling land. A detailed stroke saver takes golfers through the golf course, providing distance measurements and images that assist players with navigating the course. A little harder than the Outeniqua golf course, but easier than The Links, Fancourt’s Montagu golf course is an exhilarating challenge with unforgettable scenery.
Over the 6324 metres par 72 ranked course you will feel the thrill that the tree-lined fairways that only a true parkland format can provide. Facilities at this golfing landscape blend into the environment and add to the area’s uncontested beauty. Montagu’s golfing experience is exclusively limited to members, their guests and the Resort’s guests providing peace of mind that your time on the magnificent grounds is not rushed along.

A warm-up area, featuring a full-length range and a chipping and bunker practice area, is available to golfers before play. Golf carts are available for hire, weather permitting. If you enjoy a social four-ball or are serious about developing your game, the academy’s tailored coaching programmes will sort out your swing and stabilise your stance. The Golf Academy presents individual and group coaching sessions, as well as long-term coaching programmes for adults and scholars. The academy also offers club repairs and customised fitment. The Club Lounge at Fancourt is the destination of choice for golfers on a break or visitors looking to indulge in some club style food.
Fondly referred to as the 19th hole, the Club Lounge overlooks the 18th green of the Montagu golf course and has become the common end point after a good game. This destination provides a range of indoor and outdoor seating and offers a large selection of cocktail snacks, clubhouse steaks and burgers. Sporting enthusiasts can enjoy televised sporting events in the lounge area or enjoy a few drinks at its well-stocked bar.
