Milnerton Links
Playing like a true links golf course situated souutwest of Cape Town. The playing experience features breath-taking views of Table Mountain and serves to remind you of where you are in the world. The course is relatively open and features pot bunkers, undulating greens and an ever-present breeze. This links golf course plays right along the beach and serves as a fantastic warm-up for the 8 other golf rounds to come.
St Francis Links
The best Links course in the Eastern Cape and a regular member of the top ten golf clubs in South Africa, an honour only a handful of clubs share. Designed by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus and occupying some of the most prestigious estate in the country, no expense was spared creating what is called “South Africa’s pure links.” And while St Francis Links may not have been grazing land it suits the description to the tee, so to say. The course is hauntingly beautiful, surrounded indigenous shrub, outlying dunes and a host of wildlife with views that overlook the picturesque St Francis Village houses with their white walls and black thatched roofs.
Montagu Golf Course
A majestic 18-hole parkland layout at Fancourt, designed by the legendary Grand Slam golfer Gary Player, the Montagu is quite similar to the Outeniqua and offers challenging design and fine conditioning to ensure an excellent test for all levels of golfers. With play being restricted to hotel residents, members and their guests, the course rarely seems crowded and you can enjoy a peaceful and comfortable round of golf at your pace. Although set in the same surroundings as its better known counterparts, the Montagu has developed an individual personality rivalling the others. As with all courses at Fancourt, there are a variety of tees from which to choose to play, ensuring that golfers are unlikely to ever feel overpowered by the course. Excellent water features and creeks interspersed with uphill and downhill challenges and excellent bunkering (recently renovated) are all augmented in the charm and challenge by the colourful flora to be seen throughout the course.
Pinnacle Point Golf Course
The Pinnacle Point Golf Course, co-designed by renowned golf architect Peter Matkovich and British Open champion Darren Clarke, stretches along four kilometres of spectacular coastline and boasts dramatic cliff-side holes as well as a virgin beachfront. Awe inspiring views are a given with the stunning ocean visible from every hole on what has been aptly called as South Africa’s response to the hallowed Pebble Beach. Several of the holes at Pinnacle Point are amazing in terms of wow factor, and even when you’re playing inland you still enjoy wonderful views of the Indian Ocean. The Peter Matkovich course in Mossel Bay is possibly South Africa’s major golf attraction for tourists, and has contributed immensely to the success of the Garden Route as an award-winning golf destination. With sensational views from every tee, it was once described by St Francis Links CEO Jeff Clause as golf on an “Imax Screen.”
The Links at Fancourt
An inland-links style challenge to test the best in the world is how the Fancourt Links was visualised at its conception. Designed by the legendary Gary Player and considered to be his design masterpiece, the Links at Fancourt recreates the classic courses of Scotland and Ireland in a typically South African setting with the majestic Outeniqua mountains serving as a dramatic backdrop. Conceived on a former airport site, the resulting aura is that of a pure links layout in spite of its inland location, with only the climate and the mountains serving as reminders that the golfer is not in the British Isles. Having hosted the 2003 Presidents Cup (which ended in a dramatic tie between Tiger Woods and Ernie Els with Nelson Mandela in attendance) and the 2005 SAA Open, playing at The Links is a very, very special experience.
Steenberg Golf Club
Rated among the top 3 golf courses to visit in South Africa, Steenberg, nestled in the crook of the Constantiaberg Mountains, lives up to its fame with a charming location amidst vineyards. Designed by the eminent golf course architect Peter Matkovich, Steenberg follows his principle that good golf course architects “listen to the land”. The greens on the course are especially laudable, but the quality of the fairways or the rest of the course is in fact, equally impressive. Signature holes are the 7th and the 14th, with the longest green in Africa on the latter. Large aprons around the greens are another special feature and the vineyards also provide a unique visual aspect, as well as a charming added hazard. Recently voted “Top foreign golf resort” by Conde Nast Traveller readers, Steenberg is one of the most prestigious golf courses in South Africa.
Plettenberg Bay Golf Course
Promoted as a hidden gem of the Garden Route, Plettenberg Bay’s Country Club is a must-play for anyone travelling the Garden Route. Set in a private nature reserve, the golf ratings disagree with the playing experience which is a true members club and one that the locals love to play. It is a rugged parkland course with beautiful surrounds – you’ll feel just like a local playing this hidden gem.
Pearl Valley Signature Course
Located between the magnificent Simonsberg and Drakenstein Mountain Ranges, Pearl Valley Signature Course shares its borders with two of the most well-known and picturesque winemaking towns in the Cape – Paarl and Franschhoek. From the vineyards and orchards that border the course to the mighty Berg River flowing through it to the mountainous backdrops of every hole, playing here is an experience that cannot be adequately described in words. Golf legend Jack Nicklaus has used his abundant store of knowledge and experience in the game to develop the most visually spectacular golf course in the country. The design of the Pearl Valley Golf Course has received praises galore for its magnificent rich, deep, green all-season fairways and the clever use of dazzling water features, which often protect the splendid large and subtle bent grass greens. The bunkers, in true Nicklaus fashion, are shallow, long and relatively undaunting.
Victoria & Alfred Hotel Cape Town – The Victoria & Alfred Hotel, situated along Cape Town’s esteemed V&A Waterfront, embodies modern luxury with a recent refurbishment, boasting a 5-star distinction. Commanding panoramic views of Table Mountain and the harbour, this establishment offers sumptuously appointed accommodations, gourmet culinary experiences, and exemplary service. It stands as an epitome of refined indulgence in the picturesque landscape of South Africa.

Nestled in the heart of the Stellenbosch Winelands, the hotel offers luxurious accommodations, award-winning wines, and a serene spa. Enjoy a blend of historic charm and modern luxury in this iconic destination that is located in Cape Town’s back yard.
Fancourt Hotel in George is Africa’s premier golf resort. Boasting world-class amenities, championship golf courses, and refined accommodation, Fancourt creates an exclusive retreat in the scenic Garden Route. Immerse yourself in luxury surrounded by pristine landscapes and impeccable service.
Sky Villa Hotel in Plettenberg Bay redefines coastal luxury. Perched atop a hill, it commands breathtaking ocean views. The boutique hotel offers contemporary design, private plunge pools, and personalized service. Indulge in the serenity of Plettenberg Bay while enjoying the epitome of modern coastal elegance.
Kariega Game Reserve, a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, combines luxury with a safari experience. Set in a malaria-free wilderness, the reserve offers diverse game viewing, intimate lodges, and conservation efforts. Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of the African bush while enjoying the comforts of a world-class game reserve.
Kariega Game Reserve
Kariega Game Reserve is a malaria-free Big 5 private game reserve situated near Port Elizabeth, thus forming a natural extension to Cape Town and the Garden Route. Family owned and managed, it would be accurate to say that the gradual growth and development of the now expansive 11,500 hectare reserve is one of the most accomplished conservation projects in the Eastern Cape. Kariega’s landscape spans across five different eco systems, resulting in extremely high game carrying capacities which results in Kariega’s game viewing and birding experience being unsurpassed in the Eastern Cape. Having two major rivers incorporated into the reserve (the Kariega and Bushmans rivers) adds enormous beauty and value, where guests enjoy stunning river cruises, canoeing and fishing on both rivers. Luxury accommodation is offered in five difference lodges (from 4 star to 5 star), namely Main Lodge & The Homestead (both 4-star), Ukhozi Lodge & River Lodge (both 4-star superior) and Settlers Drift (5-star luxury tented lodge). There is much to do and see at Kariega Game Reserve. As a result anything from two to seven nights can be enjoyed, however, a minimum three night stay is highly recommended for your ultimate safari experience. Some activites include safari game drives offered twice a day, river cruises and canoeing, fishing, guided bush walks, massages, and relaxing at the main swimming pool.
George
Located midway between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, George is the largest city on the Garden Route and the sixth oldest town in South Africa. It is sandwiched between the Outeniqua Mountains to the north and the Indian Ocean to the south, and surrounded by forests, rivers, and valleys. It is known for its golf courses, theatres, historical landmarks, museums, local farms, and a wide expanse of forest. There are many hiking and mountain biking trails exploring the indigenous fynbos. Outdoor enthusiasts come to canoe down the Kaaimans river, abseil down the river gorge and surf in Victoria Bay or Herold’s Bay.
Robben Island
Robben Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a poignant symbol of South Africa’s turbulent history. Located off Cape Town’s coast, it served as a political prison during apartheid, housing iconic figures like Nelson Mandela. Today, Robben Island is a powerful museum, offering guided tours led by former political prisoners. Visitors witness firsthand the stark cells, the lime quarry where Mandela endured hard labor, and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity. A visit to Robben Island is a profound exploration of South Africa’s journey towards reconciliation and freedom.
Cape Town
Cape Town is a true fan favourite, with its exciting Mediterranean vibe, amazing culinary scene, beautiful Cape Dutch architecture, thriving art community, and successful sports teams – all set to the backdrop of iconic Table Mountain and the turbulent waters of the Atlantic Ocean. It is no wonder it is called The Mother City. This vibrant, trendy city has broad appeal. Local attractions include Table Mountain, Robben Island, the V&A Waterfront, Bo-Kaap, boutique shops, numerous museums, wineries, and world famous restaurants. For those venturing beyond the city, the Cape Winelands and Cape Peninsula are a day trip away. Cape Town’s rich cultural heritage dates back more than 300 years and its diversity is evident in the city’s architecture, art, and food. It is the second most populous city in South Africa and sits at the southwest tip of Africa.
Table Mountain
One of the oldest mountains on the planet, this natural world heritage site, and Natural New 7 Wonder of the World, is the most iconic landmark of South Africa. Legend has it that the so-called “tablecloth” of clouds that pours over the side when a southeasterly wind blows up the mountain’s slopes is the result of a smoking contest between the devil and a retired sea captain named Jan van Hunks. More likely it’s a matter of condensation, but the effect provides an awe-inspiring backdrop to the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town. Flanked by Devil’s Peak and Lion’s Head, Table Mountain marks the northern end of the Cape Fold Mountain range, which runs like a spine from north to south through the Cape Peninsula. There are more than 2,200 species of plants and 1,470 floral species found on Table Mountain, many of which are endemic to the area, and form part of the Cape Floral Region, the richest yet smallest floral kingdom on earth.
Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve
Visit the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian oceans. Rugged rocks and sheer cliffs towering more than 200 metres above the sea and cutting deep into the ocean, provide a spectacular background for the park’s rich bio-diversity. The natural fynbos vegetation of the areas comprises the smallest but richest of the world’s six floral kingdoms. The Cape of Good Hope is also home to an abundant animal population, which includes zebra, ostriches, baboons, tortoises and dassies. Take a funicular ride aboard the Flying Dutchman to an historical lighthouse built atop the cliffs of the Cape Point, which for centuries has warned passing ships of the dangerous rocks surrounding the Cape of Storms. From this vantage point, you can take in a panoramic view of the stunning bay.
Boulders Penguin Colony
The beautiful Boulders Beach is one of Cape Town’s most visited beaches and the only place in the world where you get close to African Penguins. Cape Town definitely has no shortage of amazing beaches, but Boulders Beach in False Bay offers something extra special – a colony of African Penguins in all their smartly dresses, waddling glory, right under your nose. In fact, it’s the only place in the world where you can get close to African Penguins.
Franschoek
Located about 75 km (45 mi) east of Cape Town, Franschhoek is one of the oldest towns in South Africa. French Huguenot settlers first arrived in the late 1600s and began what has become a thriving agricultural industry focused primarily on winemaking. Much of the traditional Cape Dutch architecture has been preserved, making this one of South Africa’s prettiest places to visit, not only for the classic churches and farmhouses but also for its breathtaking landscapes. The town itself is situated in a picturesque valley nestled at the foot of imposing surrounding mountain ranges. The main road is lined with art galleries, boutiques and small shops selling freshly baked goods, charcuterie, olive oil, jam, artisanal chocolate and, of course, wine. Also, some of the country’s top restaurants and most reknowned wineries are here. A variety of quaint boutique wineries and large cellars offer guided tours and tastings, which can be visited aboard the famous Franschhoek Wine Tram. For those seeking outdoor adventures, there are a number of scenic walking trails in the surrounding mountains, particularly in the Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve and around the Berg River. Other activities include cycling, horseback riding, polo, and golf.

Of course you can. Our tours are specifically designed so non-golfing partners enjoy the trip as much as their golfing partners. Our hotels are always central to towns and popular activities. We also create non-golfer itineraries that are crafted with the interests of the non-golfers in mind and that means we consult with you before we book any non-golfer activity.
No, our golf tours are accepting of all golfers. Depending on the destination, some golf courses require you to have a certain handicap, and this will be expressed prior to any booking confirmation. Otherwise, you are welcome to join our golf tour as they are always inclusive.
Escorted golf tours are one of the most enjoyable types of holidays. Our groups are small and everyone gets to know each other on a first-name basis early-on in the tour.
On a golf day, breakfast is usually taken between 6:30 - 08.30, and our first tee-times are usually mid-morning. This allows for the early risers and late-goers to enjoy a two-hour period for breakfast. We like to keep the afternoons free for sightseeing, resort relaxation, shopping or general downtime. We usually restrict each day to having one activity, whether it's a half-day tour or round of golf, it's usually quite relaxed.
Apart from the welcome dinner and farewell dinner, we usually keep evenings free to enjoy whichever destination you are in. If you are travelling by yourself, the tour leaders have an open invitation to dine with them; if this is the case, you're in for a real treat as the tour leaders know where to go for the best meals. We always stay in destinations where local restaurants are either a short walk or short transfer away, so there are plenty of options to dine.
Over the decades, our tours average the following guest ratio: 70% couples, 30% singles. Our tours are comprised on average of 55% male and 45% female. One fact we are proud of is that our tours enjoy an average of 70% or higher repeat guest rate.
Absolutely. We are firm believers in travelling safely and with transparency. See our full list of accreditation here.

We are very transparent with our pricing. The easiest way to compare costs is to take the tour cost and divide it by the number of nights on the tour. Then, compare this per-night rate with other operators' tours. You'll find that some operators use the number of days to inflate numbers but the industry uses the nightly rate as the correct basis.
If you are trying to compare two tours, do the above equation and compare other factors including:
Voyages.golf has market-leading prices due to our long-established relationships with suppliers. We go out of the way to secure the best deals for our tours to bring costs down but also provide a sensational experience to maximise comfort and enjoyment for all participants. If you have any doubts or are comparing the costs between operators, feel free to let us know and we'll talk you through it.
