Bordering the renowned 17th Road Hole of The Old Course, the Old Course Hotel overlooks the famous links courses and the West Sands Beach. This prestigious AA Five Red Star-awarded hotel has 144 rooms including 35 suites and is recognised as one of Europe’s leading resorts. The Old Course Hotel features a combination of classically elegant and contemporary interiors, and French designer Jacques Garcia designed many of the hotel’s suites. Located just a short stroll from the historic university town of St Andrews, it’s a great holiday spot for golfers and non-golfers alike. Golf
Situated on the edge of The Home of Golf, the Old Course Hotel enjoys unprecedented access to all of St. Andrews Links’ golf courses. There are 7 golf courses owned by St. Andrews Links, 6 of which are located on its doorstep, and the nearby Castle Course overlooks the town. The best ones include The Old Course (play by ballot only), The Jubilee, The New Course and The Eden Course.

Old Course Rooms
The Old Course rooms all have direct views of the Old Course. Guests who do manage to draw themselves away from this bird’s-eye view of the world’s most famous golf course will appreciate the interesting use of tactile textures – a reminder of Scotland’s rich heritage in the textile industry. Gold and antique-style lamps are complemented by traditional images of St Andrews and golf.
Eden Parkland Rooms
The Eden Parkland-facing rooms are spacious and luxuriously appointed. Featured in this category of rooms are reading corners, a writing desk, USB & HDMI connectivity, and some rooms include private balconies. All rooms feature a KOHLER® bathroom.
Eden Suites
Eden Suites epitomise luxury with bold, traditional decor. These spacious rooms feature fabric-lined walls, a wooden and red leather sleigh bed, a sofa (converts to a sofa bed) and coffee table. Full windows provide spectacular views overlooking the surrounding countryside. These rooms also feature a writing desk, sitting area, full windows with balcony and a minikitchen area.
Old Course Suites
Directly above the 17th green of the world’s most famous golf course, these suites feature private balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows with direct panoramic views of the Old Course, the Royal & Ancient, the historic town of St Andrews and the Fife coastline. The Old Course suites’ warm décor feels very Scottish yet remains contemporary, with a stunning combination of tactile textiles including a Jacques Garcia-designed 100% wool throw and silk-lined walls.
Fairway Suites
The fairway suites are a wonderful contrast to the Old Course Suites with their contemporary feel. Housed in the Millennium Wing of the resort, which was launched in 2000, every fairway suite has a private balcony with a magnificent view of the Old Course and the Fife coastline. These suites have a spacious separate lounge containing a WC and mini-kitchen, a large bedroom and a large bathroom.
Deluxe Suites
Designed by French designer Jacques Garcia (of Hôtel Costes, Paris and Hôtel Metropole, Monte Carlo fame) deluxe suites welcome guests with a red, double-arched entrance with marble floor. Throughout, the rich colour palette continues with a striped cream sofa, a red and black velvet chaise longue, and rich textiles. Enjoy the warmth and cosy comfort of an open fire or take a glass of champagne onto your private balcony and enjoy the incredible view.
Royal and Ancient Suite
Situated above the famous 17th fairway of the Old Course, the Royal & Ancient suite – one of Scotland’s finest – offers spectacular views across the links courses to the sea from its floor-to-ceiling windows and balcony. Tactile fabrics and eye-catching detail can be found throughout this suite, which features a separate sitting room.
Road Hole Restaurant
The 3 AA awarded restaurant offers sprawling views of the Old Course and the North Sea whilst you dine. Whether you’re ordering from the grill or sampling the seafood selection, Road Hole’s Scottish food is locally sourced, with the chefs picking up fresh seafood regularly.
Road Hole Bar
Whisky aficionados around the globe flock to the Road Hole Bar to sample more than 250 whiskies from distilleries all over Scotland; past and present. The bar also has an excellent selection of cocktails, champagnes and wines for you to enjoy whilst experiencing the very best view in golf. There is also a resident pianist every Friday and Saturday evening.
Sands
Sands Restaurant’s welcoming ambiance makes it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The family-friendly restaurant’s extensive menu offers something for every taste whilst the warm, relaxed service creates an inviting atmosphere. The menu at Sands changes with the seasons and offers a wide range of international cuisines o cater for entire families.
Jigger Inn
This historic building dates back to the 1850s, when it was the stationmaster’s lodge, and the history and heritage live on. Today, The Jigger Inn is home to golfing memorabilia, crackling open-hearth fires, home-cooked food and a superb selection of Scottish beers.
Hams Hame Pub & Grill
Hams Hame Pub & Grill is a fabulous venue offering outstanding Scottish cuisine that showcases the best ingredients – seafood landed on the harbours of the East Neuk’s fishing villages, carefully selected pork, beef and poultry reared by award-winning producers across Scotland … as well as seasonal fruits and vegetables chosen for their flavour from farms, some of which overlook St Andrews.
The Duke’s Clubhouse
A popular and relaxed dining venue with views of St Andrews and beyond, the award-winning Duke’s Bar & Grill offers a hearty selection of traditional food. Tune in to the post-golfing analysis over a pint of beer, or head onto the deck and catch a few rays of sun. The Captain’s Room, which is set off the main bar, can be hired for private parties of up to 20.

Fitness Centre
The new facility will offer a large health and fitness centre, housing an additional 20m lap pool with hot tub, a gym area with cardio and resistance stations, a functional fitness space and a group exercise studio. The fitness centre will offer a number of classes, from Yoga and Pilates to Spinning and Circuit Training, instructor lead classes along with virtual classes.
The Old Course Hotel lies on the edge of St Andrews town, on the main road into town. The tirp directly from Edinburgh Airport to the Old Course Hotel is 75 minutes by car, whilst it is just 15-minutes’ drive from Dundee Airport. There are also direct trains from London Kings Cross to Aberdeen, and from Aberdeen to Leuchars Station, which lies just 8-minutes’ drive from the hotel.
