Trump International Golf Links Aberdeen

Aberdeenshire, Scotland

About

Discover

As you drive along a dramatically long road past the 5-star MacLeod House, the Trump International Scotland clubhouse appears with its New York 1920s-era lamp posts standing tall over the precinct. Appearing more like a movie set from Disney Land than a world-renowned golf complex, the Trump Aberdeen Golf Links precinct offers an abnormally small clubhouse that is dwarfed by fescue-grass sand-dunes. The course has been voted in the World Top 100 and is certainly world-class in every way from customer service to the cuisine served in the clubhouse. Some nearby golf courses include Cruden Bay, Blairgowrie and Carnoustie Golf Links. Golf Course Information

Designed by Martin Hawtree and one of the few world-class golf courses to open in the current millennium, Trump International Scotland in Aberdeenshire is a slice of golf paradise. Martin Hawtree has extensive golf architect credentials because of his long-time work in collaboration with the Royal & Ancient Golf Club’s work on the Open rota golf courses. Though it is a relatively new course, the site is astonishing and the quality and continued maintenance of the site demonstrates a 5-star facility of the highest order. It is only a matter of time before the venue hosts a major international golf tournament.

The Course hugs the coastline in a north-south routing that allows the entire round of eighteen to be completed amongst towering sand dunes that remind golfers of the Irish Ballybunion Old Course, Lahinch, or even Royal Troon’s Old Course. The sand dunes at Trump International tower above fairways, greens and golfers, so we recommend hitting them as straight as you can. Blind doglegs and hidden valleys make the course an exhilarating challenge whilst the layout winding up and down the coast through fescue-covered dunes provides the highest reviews among golfers who get to experience the Scottish links layout.

Venue Information

From The Clubhouse to the practice facilities, Trump Aberdeen has 5-star amenities for the visiting golfer. The clubhouse is on the small side, but it makes use of the space within, featuring a fully-stocked Pro Shop with the full range of golf equipment branded with Trump International Scotland, as well as gift ideas consisting of Scottish Whiskies, gift vouchers, accessories and Trump-branded merchandise. It is a bit pricey, be warned. The Clubhouse also houses the Dunes Restaurant and Bar, which serves stylish modern classics from fish to burgers, salads and specials.

The Practice Facilities at Trump International Scotland are remarkable, and some would say a bit excessive. The driving range is full-length and is notably one of the largest in the country despite the links course being compact amongst sand dunes. The short game area consists of six greens, bunkers and various lie conditions. The putting green is 3500 square metres in surface area, though it is not complimentary for golfers with a green fee; you will require a day pass or yearly pass for practice facility admission.
