The Open is one of four annual Golf Majors and is the last one each calendar year. It is also the only major held outside of the United States. The others are the Masters, PGA Championship and U.S. Open. The Masters is the only major held at the same venue each year: Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia. The other Majors are held at different venues on a rotating basis, which makes it harder for players to rank consistently. The Open attracts the most fans each year, with the record being in 2000 where 239,000 fans flocked to St Andrews to see the first Open in a new millennium. In 2019, 237,500 fans attended Royal Portrush, so 2025 is set to be one of the biggest years on record. The Open will be staged at Royal Troon Golf Club in 2024.

As tickets for the 153rd Open Championship go on sale, enthusiasts are encouraged to secure their spots promptly, ensuring they don’t miss the chance to be part of this historic gathering. With the eyes of the golfing world fixed on Royal Portrush, July 13-20, 2025 promises to be a week of unparalleled competition, camaraderie, and the joy of sharing in the timeless traditions of The Open. Pick one of three travel packages and tours to The Open in 2025 with Voyages.golf, your Authorized Provider for play-golf experiences during The Open at Portrush:
