The European Tour has confirmed the new dates for The Irish Open 2021 after what has been a tumultuous rescheduling of all tour events due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 2021 Irish Open is scheduled to run between Thursday 01st and Sunday 04th of July 2021. The European Tour has also announced that there will be a minimum of 42 tournaments in 24 countries between January and November 2021, including 18 events that were either cancelled or postponed in 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Dubai Duty Free Irish Open has lost its title as a Rolex Series event along with eight other events. The prize fund has consequently been cut to €3 million, but remains larger than many other European Tour events.
Mount Juliet Estate
Mount Juliet Estate is located south-west of the Irish capital of Dublin, and north-west of the coastal town of Wexford. The Estate resides on 500 acres of lush parkland, with the River Nore running through. The Estate is over 250 years old, with Somerset Hamilton Butler building the establishment in 1747. Luxury accommodation consists of the relatively new Hunter’s Yard Hotel & The old Manor House. Golfers can tee it up on the 18-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed parkland course, which has seen Tiger Woods win the 2002 World Golf Championship (WGC) American Express, along with other major tournaments over the years. Ryder Cup veteran Paul McGinley also partnered with the Estate to form a Golf Academy; and there is a slew of fantastic non-golf activities including horse riding, falconry, fishing, archery and nature walks.
