New Zealand’s newest luxury Resort has just opened. Featuring two 18-hole golf courses next to world-renowned Tara Iti Golf Club, the new Te Arai Links is set to turn heads in the golf world.
Touted as a golfer’s paradise, the 36-hole golf facility is open to resort guests only. Located just over one hour’s drive northwest of New Zealand’s capital Auckland, Te Arai Links seamlessly blends 5-star luxury with its jaw-dropping surroundings. 18 Holes are currently open for play, with a further 18-holes designed by Tom Doak (named the North Course), expected to open in 2023.
Named the South Course, Te Arai’s first 18-hole golf course has opened with the Resort. To play it, visitors must be guests at Te Arai. The South Course as it is named was designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw who designed the likes of Cabot Cliffs, The Lost Farm and Streamsong Red. The golf course is built on undulating sand dunes next to the Pacific Ocean. Sixteen of its eighteen holes have ocean views whilst eight holes court the ocean.
The Resort accommodation consists of three types of dwellings all architecturally designed by Studio John Irving with interior design by Jenni Kayne. The smallest at 45-square-metres are the Suites which sleep two guests. The Cottages are over 140-square-metres and house up to four people in two bedrooms. The Villas are exceptionally large, capable of sleeping eight people in four bedrooms complete with a kitchen, amazing views and outdoor fire pit. Te Arai is already a contender with The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs or The Farm at Cape Kidnappers for most luxurious golf resort in New Zealand.
Resort guests can dine either at The Restaurant which is the central gathering place for everyone at The Resort, or try the Pizza Barn named Ric’s for relaxed pizzas and beer overlooking the practice putting green. The Resort styles itself on luxury and that is exactly what you will find at Te Arai Links. Contact us to find out more.
