36 holes of visually stunning championship golf resides at Skylake Resort & Golf Club near Vietnam’s northern city of Hanoi. The Lake Course was voted as Vietnam’s most challenging course by the Vietnamese Golf Association in 2021 & 2013, though it is usually members only. The Sky Course is open to the public and was designed by Bori Golf Design Ltd and lead designer Mr Ahn Moon Hwan. Facilities at Skylake Resort & Golf Club are fantastic with a well-appointed clubhouse offering panoramic views of the Hanoi Skyline and distant rocky outcrop of Van Son. Relatively new, the precinct opened its doors in 2012, but it has quickly developed a name for itself in the international golf community. Nearby golf courses we recommend you play are Hilltop Valley and Stone Valley golf clubs.
The Lake Course at Skylake Resort & Golf Club is the premier course, though it is only usually available for members of the golf club. Designed by Ahn Moon Hwan of Bori Golf Design, a Korean golf course design firm, the Lake Course is a visual masterpiece and a renowned golf course. Elevation changes with rolling fairways, distant mountains and still lakes create a heaven-like atmosphere throughout the eighteen holes. Big hitters will love the course because it has wide fairways, but a key challenge is getting the right angle to the pin from the contoured fairways. Its greens undulate noticeably so your entire strategy will depend on shaping your shots to various degrees.
The Sky Course differs from its sibling The Lake Course in that it is surrounded by native Vietnamese jungle and many of its holes will require you to steer well clear of the dense foliage. With the nearby mountains as a back-drop, the Sky Course has many features like the Lake Course, though it is considered the easier of the two. Apart from being an aesthetic masterpiece, the course is an exciting challenge that will require you to use every club in your bag.
A large clubhouse comes well-appointed at Sky lake Resort & Golf Club. The golf shop is well-stocked with the latest brands such as Titleist, Footjoy, Taylor Made, Nike and Puma, as well as local brands such as Louis Castel. Equipment that you can rent on comes from Cobra and Titleist. The Clubhouse also features the Sky Restaurant, which offers a diverse selection of both Asian and Western cuisine, with its main focus on Korean cuisine. It is open from lunch onwards, so we recommend eating breakfast before you arrive. Practice facilities at Sky Lake Resort currently consist of a short-game chipping area and practice putting green, with future developments considering the implementation of a full-length driving range.
