One of Fiji’s premier golf courses, the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club is situated in the heart of the Pacific Nation’s tourist hub. The Golf Club is one of the most accessible courses on Fiji’s main island of Viti Levu, just 20-minutes’ drive from Nadi International Airport. The Pacific Paraside features 18 holes designed by Japanese golf architect Eiichi Motobashi; it opened in 1993 and has since become one of Fiji’s Top 3 Championship Golf Courses. Clubhouse facilities at Denarau Golf Club are fantastic, with plenty of space to move around, a great Pro Shop and clubhouse restaurant with a sports bar. Denarau Golf Club makes for a great family destination with a mini-golf course on-site and a bungee trampoline; it gives golf a uniquely laidback Fijian atmosphere. Denarau Golf Club is situated an hour north of Fiji’s best golf course Natadola Bay, host of the Fiji International until 2019.
Designed by Japanese golf course architect Eiichi Motobashi, the Denarau golf course is styled as a Resort course with palm trees, large flat-bottomed bunkers and tree-lined holes. Water is a prominent feature in Fiji and also the Denarau golf course, it features on 15 of its 18 holes. The golf course is relatively long at over 6.5 kilometres, so a healthy combination of distance and accuracy is essential to scoring a good round. The green fees at Denarau are golf cart-inclusive, which creates a resort-style atmosphere.
A uniquely Pacific-style feature of Denarau golf course is the bunkers which are shaped as marine creatures. The golf course is a fun challenge in that it is family-friendly, championship quality and easily accessible from the main airport and nearby resorts. The longest hole on the course is a 521-metre par-5 and the shortest a 155-metre par-3. There are four par-3’s featuring water carries from tee to tee to greens. The golf course borders the Pacific ocean with some holes enjoying a blue backdrop framed by palm trees.
Clubhouse
The Clubhouse at Denarau Golf Club is styled with Pacific architecture with modern facilities. Inside, golfers will find changing areas, a restaurant with Sports Bar and a well-stocked pro shop. The Clubhouse restaurant offers a diverse range of Western cuisine with Pacific influences. Golfers can enjoy a coffee or cold beverage and meal before or after your round, while the Pro Shop features the big golf brand names and a good range of Denarau-logoed merchandise.
Practice Facilities
The Denarau Golf Club has a full suite of practice facilities for visiting golfers. You can enjoy a full-length driving range and practice putting green accompanied by a short-game chipping area adjacent to the clubhouse. There is a golf program that includes ladies-only tuition and junior programs so the entire family can be involved at Denarau Golf & Racquet Club.
