Add-ons
The Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is a five-star resort located on the picturesque Natadola Bay. It combines modern luxury with traditional Fijian elements, offering guests a high-end yet culturally rooted experience. The resort’s design is integrated into its surroundings, with thatched roofs and locally sourced materials that reflect the natural beauty of Fiji while providing modern amenities for comfort and relaxation.
The resort features a variety of accommodation options, including spacious rooms and suites, many of which offer ocean views or direct access to the beach. Each room is designed with a blend of contemporary and traditional Fijian décor, creating a relaxing atmosphere that complements the coastal setting. Guests can enjoy private terraces, outdoor bathtubs, and other amenities tailored to enhancing their stay.
In terms of dining, the Intercontinental offers several restaurants and bars, each providing a mix of local Fijian cuisine and international dishes. From casual beachfront dining to more formal options, the resort caters to a range of tastes while making the most of fresh, local ingredients.
The resort’s beachfront location provides direct access to the white sands of Natadola Bay, ideal for water sports, swimming, or simply relaxing. In addition, the resort features a world-class spa offering a range of treatments inspired by traditional Fijian wellness practices, alongside modern fitness and leisure facilities. For golfers, the proximity to Natadola Bay Golf Course makes it a convenient base for enjoying rounds of golf, with easy access to the course for extra rounds before or after this event.
Natadola Bay Golf Course opened in 2009 and was designed by Fijian golfer Vijay Singh. His goal was to create a course that balanced challenging play with the natural beauty of the island, taking advantage of the coastal landscape. The course has since hosted notable events, including the Fiji International, positioning it as a key venue in the South Pacific for both local and international golfers.
The course’s layout reflects its Fijian roots, incorporating the island’s natural terrain and vegetation. Fairways wind through coconut groves and native flora, offering a sense of place that aligns with the surrounding environment. The design is not just about aesthetics; it also respects the island’s cultural heritage. Natadola’s proximity to traditional Fijian villages and the inclusion of local elements in the clubhouse and landscaping emphasise its connection to the broader Fijian experience.
From a design perspective, Singh utilised the natural undulations of the landscape, preserving the site’s topography while adding strategic challenges. The course features a variety of wide fairways, giving players options off the tee, but the approach shots are where strategy becomes key. Bunkers are placed thoughtfully, and elevation changes require precise club selection. The greens are contoured to challenge putters without overwhelming them, offering a balance between playability and difficulty.
One of the unique aspects of Natadola Bay is its use of coastal views throughout the course. Several holes, including the par-3 4th, play directly along the shoreline, with the ocean acting as a natural hazard on some occasions. Wind off the water often becomes a factor, adding another layer of complexity to the game. The course’s design encourages players to think through each shot, making it an enjoyable yet demanding experience for a wide range of golfers.
The event runs from Thursday, 11 September 2025, through Monday, 16 September 2025, offering five nights of luxury, delicious dining, and three rounds of unforgettable golf. Each day brings a balance of competition, camaraderie, and tropical leisure, with plenty of opportunities to unwind off the course. Here’s what you can expect:
We’ve designed a format that adds variety and excitement to each day, ensuring golfers of all skill levels can enjoy themselves while staying competitive:
Day 1 (Friday, 12 Sep): Individual Stableford – The tournament kicks off with the Stableford format. Points are awarded based on your net score for each hole, encouraging smart play without the pressure of traditional stroke play. It’s a fun, relaxed way to start the event and get everyone into the groove.
Day 2 (Sunday, 14 Sep): Ambrose – Time to team up! In the Ambrose format, players in each group work together, with each player hitting a shot, and the team choosing the best shot to play from next. This fun, collaborative style creates a great sense of camaraderie and helps keep the atmosphere light and social. Players who do not have a group nominated will be paired automatically with others prior to arrival for this day.
Day 3 (Monday, 15 Sep): Stableford Format – The final day of the tournament brings it back to Stableford, testing your individual skills. It’s the perfect way to bring out some friendly competition, as the overall tournament prizes will be decided on this final round.
