Royal Golf Hotel, Dornoch
Few hotels sit closer to golfing history. Overlooking the first tee at Royal Dornoch, the Royal Golf Hotel offers 22 cosy bedrooms with Highland warmth and traditional hospitality. It feels like a private retreat where you’re known by name, yet still steps away from one of the world’s greatest courses. Wake up, enjoy a hearty breakfast, and be on the first tee within minutes.

Lochgreen House Hotel, Troon
A grand country manor surrounded by 30 acres of gardens and woodland, Lochgreen House is a refined yet welcoming base on Scotland’s Ayrshire Coast. Just minutes from Royal Troon Golf Club, this elegant property combines period character with modern comforts. Relax by the fire, stroll the landscaped grounds, or enjoy fine dining after a day’s championship golf.

Storrs Hall, Lake District
Set on the shores of Lake Windermere, Storrs Hall is one of England’s most iconic lakeside retreats. This historic 18th-century hotel blends timeless charm with breathtaking scenery. Lake View Rooms feature sweeping windows that frame Windermere and the surrounding fells, creating a tranquil sanctuary between your golfing highlights.

Hilton Liverpool City Centre
During The Open, Liverpool’s Hilton is the place to be. Overlooking Albert Dock and Chavasse Park, the hotel offers stylish, modern comfort in the heart of the city. Whether you’re relaxing after a day at Royal Birkdale or exploring Liverpool’s musical heritage, Hilton provides a contemporary, well-connected base.

St Andrews New Course
Designed by Old Tom Morris in 1895, the New Course offers classic links golf in its purest form. Narrow fairways lined with gorse, subtle greens, and deep pot bunkers demand strategy and precision. Though less famous than its neighbour, many consider it one of the finest links experiences in Scotland — and a true test of skill.
Brora Golf Club
Highland golf at its most authentic. Designed by James Braid in 1923, Brora is where sheep graze freely and the sea breeze shapes every shot. Its firm turf, strategic angles, and uninterrupted coastal views connect you to the game’s earliest traditions. Playing here is like stepping back to golf’s origins.
Royal Dornoch Golf Club
Ranked among the world’s best, Royal Dornoch is a pilgrimage course for golf lovers. Its natural contours, fast-running fairways, and elevated greens combine with raw coastal beauty to create an exhilarating test. This is Donald Ross’ inspiration and a course that humbles and delights in equal measure.
Castle Stuart (Cabot Highlands)
A modern icon overlooking the Moray Firth, Castle Stuart pairs dramatic design with sweeping scenery. Infinity-edge greens, natural bunkering, and rumpled fairways evoke golf’s golden age, while wide landing areas keep it fun and playable. It’s a course that blends spectacle with strategy — a must-play.
Dundonald Links
On the Ayrshire coast, Dundonald Links has rapidly earned a reputation as one of Scotland’s best modern designs. Kyle Phillips crafted a course that feels timeless, with undulating fairways, bold green complexes, and devilish bunkering. A former host of the Scottish Open, it’s both challenging and enjoyable.
Prestwick Golf Club
The birthplace of The Open Championship in 1860, Prestwick remains a living museum of golf. Its quirky routing, blind drives, and cavernous bunkers tell the story of the game’s early days. Every round here is full of character — a chance to walk the same ground where modern championship golf began.
Royal Troon Golf Club
A legendary Open venue, Royal Troon offers a stern championship test. The famous “Postage Stamp” 8th hole is one of golf’s most iconic par-3s, while the back nine demands patience and precision in the face of coastal winds. Playing Troon is to experience the drama of championship links golf.
Royal Lytham & St Annes
Known for its red-brick backdrop and unforgiving bunkers, Royal Lytham has hosted 11 Open Championships. Accuracy and course management are essential here, making every hole a mental as well as physical challenge. It’s a course that rewards strategy and punishes mistakes, making victory feel hard-earned.
Sunningdale Golf Club (Old Course) – Optional Extra
Often described as the finest inland course in the UK, Sunningdale Old combines rolling heather, towering oaks, and elegant fairways. The course exudes tradition and class, offering a design that is both fair and endlessly enjoyable. Playing here is the perfect finale — a masterclass in timeless golf course architecture.
St Andrews Walking Tour & Golf Museum
Explore the medieval streets of St Andrews with a guided tour that brings the town’s 600 years of history to life. Visit the ruins of St Andrews Cathedral, stroll past the university where Prince William studied, and tour the British Golf Museum. A group photo on the Swilcan Bridge is the ultimate keepsake from the Home of Golf.
Glenmorangie Whisky Tasting
After golf at Brora, enjoy a private whisky experience at the famous Glenmorangie Distillery. Learn about the craftsmanship behind one of Scotland’s most celebrated single malts, and savour drams in the company of your fellow travellers. It’s a quintessential Highland indulgence.
Highlands Touring
Non-golfers and leisure guests will have opportunities to explore the rugged beauty of the Scottish Highlands. Options include a full-day guided drive to John o’ Groats — the northern tip of mainland Britain — or a scenic journey along Loch Ness with visits to Urquhart Castle and picturesque lochside villages.
Glencoe Valley
On the journey south, we stop in the breathtaking Glencoe Valley. Known for its dramatic peaks and sweeping vistas, Glencoe is one of Scotland’s most photographed landscapes. A relaxed group lunch here gives time to soak in the natural beauty before continuing west to Troon.
Ayrshire & Western Highlands Drive
For non-golfers in Troon, a private guided drive reveals the history and culture of Ayrshire. From castle ruins and coastal villages to the stories of Robert Burns, the region offers a glimpse into Scotland beyond the fairways.
Loch Lomond Excursion
Spend a day enjoying the peaceful beauty of Loch Lomond. Non-golfers can wander lakeside paths, enjoy a waterside lunch, and take in the serenity of this iconic Scottish setting.
Spa & Leisure in Troon
Guests staying at Lochgreen House can indulge in rejuvenating spa treatments, afternoon tea, or time to shop in Troon. It’s a perfect balance of championship golf and personal relaxation.
Lake District Escape
After days of golfing intensity, the Lake District offers a slower rhythm. Storrs Hall is the ideal base to enjoy optional activities like private cruises on Lake Windermere, countryside rambles, or visits to historic manor houses. With Wordsworth’s landscapes all around, this is England at its most poetic.
