Portmarnock Resort
Set on a stretch of classic linksland just north of Dublin, Portmarnock Resort offers a relaxed coastal stay in one of Ireland’s most respected golfing locations. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, many overlooking the Irish Sea or surrounding dunes. Public areas are welcoming without being overdone, making it an ideal base to settle in at the start of the tour. Its proximity to Portmarnock Golf Club and Dublin Airport makes for an easy and logical opening stop.
Grand Central Hotel Belfast
Soaring above the Belfast skyline, the Grand Central Hotel combines modern design with a prime city-centre location. Rooms are well-appointed with contemporary finishes and expansive views across the city. After golf, guests can unwind at the Observatory Bar—the tallest cocktail lounge in Ireland—or dine at the Grand Café below. It’s a polished, central base for exploring Belfast’s history and culture, including the included Black Cab tour.
The Marcus Portrush
Located in the heart of Portrush, The Marcus is a smart, contemporary hotel well suited to golfers exploring the north coast. Rooms are modern and practical, offering a comfortable retreat after days on the links. With Portstewart and Castlerock close by, and the town’s restaurants and waterfront within easy walking distance, it’s a convenient and well-positioned base for this stage of the tour.
Rosapenna Hotel & Golf Resort
Set against sweeping Atlantic views in Donegal, Rosapenna Hotel & Golf Resort delivers a classic golf-resort experience in a spectacular setting. Rooms are comfortable and understated, with the focus firmly on golf, scenery, and atmosphere. Staying on site allows easy access to both the Old Tom Morris Links and St Patrick’s Links, with time to enjoy the surroundings between rounds. It’s a fitting final stop in one of Ireland’s most unspoilt golfing regions.
Portmarnock Golf Club
Often referred to as The Velvet Strand, Portmarnock Golf Club is one of the great traditional links courses in the world. Laid out on a narrow peninsula just north of Dublin, the course is defined by firm turf, subtle contours, and intelligent bunkering rather than brute length. Designed to reward thoughtful shot-making, Portmarnock places a premium on controlling ball flight in coastal winds. It is a pure, classical links experience and a fitting opening round for the tour.
Royal County Down Golf Club
Regularly ranked among the top courses globally, Royal County Down is a masterpiece of natural links golf set beneath the Mourne Mountains. Blind tee shots, narrow fairways, and some of the finest green complexes in the game create a challenge that is as exacting as it is memorable. The setting is dramatic, the routing ingenious, and the atmosphere unmistakably historic. This is one of those rounds that stays with you long after the final putt.
Portstewart Golf Club – Strand
Portstewart’s Strand Course delivers one of the most striking opening stretches in links golf, with towering dunes and sweeping Atlantic views. The course combines dramatic visuals with strong strategic design, demanding confident driving and a deft short game. As the round progresses, the layout tightens and tests accuracy, offering a varied and thoroughly engaging experience along the Antrim Coast.
Castlerock Golf Club
Castlerock is a traditional, no-frills links that rewards solid fundamentals and smart course management. Set on flat but wonderfully rumpled ground beside the River Bann, the course plays firm and fast, with well-placed bunkers and greens that can be deceptively tricky. It’s a course that feels authentic and understated, providing a refreshing contrast to some of the region’s more dramatic layouts.
Old Tom Morris Links
The Old Tom Morris Links at Rosapenna is a classic seaside course that reflects the roots of the game. With generous fairways, natural undulations, and excellent coastal views, it offers enjoyable yet thoughtful golf that encourages creativity around the greens. The course is steeped in history and charm, making it a rewarding walk and an ideal complement to the more modern St Patrick’s Links.
St Patrick’s Links
Designed by Tom Doak, St Patrick’s Links is a modern links course that has quickly established itself among Ireland’s very best. Routed through towering dunes with expansive views of Sheephaven Bay, the course blends bold shaping with natural landforms to create a strategic and highly playable layout. Multiple tee options and wide fairways invite creative lines of play, while the greens demand precision. It is a standout contemporary links and a superb finale to the tour.
