Homepage / Listings / Middle East / United Arab Emirates / Dubai / Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth Course
Located twenty minutes from Dubai’s centre, Jumeirah Golf Estates is home to two championship courses: Earth and Fire. The luxury Jumeirah Golf Estates are a world-class golf destination offering residential and leisure facilities with 36-holes of golf. The Estate is set on 1,119 hectares with uniquely-designed villas, apartments and townhouses. The clubhouse and off-course facilities match the impeccable service on offer year-round. The Earth Course was designed by Greg Norman, and opened in November 2009 at the Dubai World Championship. The course was built specifically for championships and its debut on the world stage was the first time anyone had played the entire course. At Jumeirah Golf Estates, the Earth Course presents a dramatic test of your golfing abilities and brings the full, luxurious Arabian experience both on and off the course. We recommend playing nearby golf courses when visiting the Jumeirah Golf Estates, these include The Els Club and Arabian Ranches; both very different but exhilarating Dubai desert golfing experiences.
Inspired by the great parkland courses of Europe and North America, the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates paints a brilliant pastiche of rolling terrain and rushing water. The Championship Course has hosted various tournaments over the years including the DP World Tour Championship. Designed by The Great White Shark Greg Norman, the Jumeirah Estate Earth Course favours risk-reward golf that makes it an exhilarating time. Its debut on the world stage happened in 2008 when Lee Westwood took the title at the DP World Tour Championship (Race to Dubai).
The golf course’s design incorporates water, bunkers, waste areas, sand traps and testing greens. The difficulties of the greens consist of cunningly placed bunkers, hard-to-read breaks and large runoff areas. The golf course is relatively long as it has hosted various championship courses so expect long par fours throughout. Expect fantastic playing conditions year-round and world-class service throughout your Jumeirah golf experience.
