The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course is a true gem of the Canadian Rockies. Located in the heart of Banff National Park, this stunning course offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forests. Designed by legendary golf course architect Stanley Thompson, the course has a rich history dating back to its opening in 1928. Today, it remains a must-play destination for golfers of all skill levels. With challenging holes, impeccable course conditions, and top-notch facilities, the Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course is a true bucket-list destination for any golfer visiting the Canadian Rockies. Nearby golf courses include Kananskis and Silver Tip Resort. Offering 27 holes of golf on two courses, the original 18-hole course was designed by world-renowned golf architect Stanley Thompson in 1928. It was later complimented with the construction of an adjourning 9 holes, designed by Comish and Robinson and opened in 1989; thereby completing this championship layout. Holes gently roll along the Bow River under the snow-capped peaks of Sulphur Mountain, Mount Rundle and Tunnel Mountain. The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course is a legendary course that is widely considered to be one of the best mountain courses in the world. Designed by Stanley Thompson, the course has a rich history that dates back to 1928. The course is located in Banff National Park and is surrounded by majestic mountains and pristine wilderness, providing an unforgettable setting for a round of golf.

 

The course features a challenging layout with tight fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and undulating greens. Golfers will face a variety of shots, with the course demanding accuracy and precision throughout. The signature hole is the par-3 fourth, which is known as the “Devil’s Cauldron”. This hole requires a precise shot over a deep ravine to a small green. Every bit Rockies, every bit parkland golf, this golf course defined the Canadian golf experience.

Venue Information

The clubhouse features a spacious and comfortable lounge area, perfect for relaxing before or after your game. There is also a well-stocked pro shop where guests can purchase golf equipment and apparel. Practice facilities include a full-length driving range, a short-game practice area, and a putting green, allowing golfers to hone their skills before hitting the course. The course also offers on-course refreshment carts to keep golfers hydrated during their round. After the game, guests can enjoy a delicious meal or a drink at one of the course’s several dining options, including the 19th Hole Grill, the Clubhouse Restaurant, or the Waldhaus Pub & Patio.
