Fancourt, South Africa’s premier leisure resort is situated in the heart of the Garden Route, ten-minutes’ drive from George Airport.  The resort is superbly landscaped on 613 hectares of lush countryside with the majestic Outeniqua Mountains as the perfect backdrop.  Leisure activities on the resort include The Spa with an indoor heated Roman Bath as well as the Leisure Centre which is home to the gymnasium, cinema, indoor heated and outdoor swimming pool.     Fancourt embodies a flawless fusion of leisure and world-class golfing. With all three of its golf courses ranked among Golf Digest’s top 20 courses in the country, it boasts a proud legacy of sporting excellence. The Links, a privately-owned club, is currently No. 1 in South Africa (Golf Digest Rankings 2018) and was ranked 38th in the World in 2018 by Golf Digest USA. The Montagu and Outeniqua golf courses are both ranked in the Top 15 in South Africa.

    Accommodation

    Fancourt Hotel

    With over 115 guest rooms spread throughout the resort, Fancourt Hotel is the main accommodation option for travelling golfers. There are four room categories to choose from at the Hotel.

     

    Classic Rooms

    Classic Rooms overlook the Outeniqua Mountains, gardens or Montagu golf course. They are ideal for families with one king-sized bed or two twins. Luxury Rooms are the next category, with forty square metres of space and well-appointed rooms.

     

    Luxury Rooms

    The Luxury Rooms feature a patio or balcony and views over the mountain range, gardens or golf warm-up area. Ideal for couples and mid-length stays, Luxury Rooms at Fancourt are highly sought-after.

     

    Fancourt Hotel Suites

    Travelling golfers can choose between one and two-bedroom suites for the ideal stay. Suited for longer stays or families who want more space, room sizes are large with separate living areas. The suites have views of the gardens, Fancourt driving range or Outeniqua Mountains. All suites have a balcony or patio and luxurious, contemporary furniture.

     

    The Manor House at Fancourt

    The flagship feature of Fancourt Resort, the Manor House is a serene country retreat. Originally built in the 1850s, The Manor House resembles a Cotswold mansion with all the rural charm associated with stately accommodation of the 19th century.

     

    Homewood Suites

    Catering for independent travellers, Homewood Suites at The Manor House combine classic style with all the modern conveniences that are expected of a five-star resort. They have plenty of space; incorporating a lounge area and balcony or patio. Over 60 square metres of space is provided, and each suite has a unique character aesthetically. Luxury amenities consist of underfloor heating, fireplace, dressing gowns, clothes press, heated towels, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

     

    Oaklands Suites

    Contemporary and luxurious, Oaklands Suites at The Manor House offer boutique accommodation with style. Each suite has its own separate living area with a lavishly designed bathroom and walk-in dressing room and butler’s reception area. The artwork features Garden Route photography and South-African inspiration. The beautiful Oaklands suites are 73 square metres and come with a king bed or twin beds.

     

    Master Suites

    With over 155 square metres of space, the Master Suite is the Manor House’s signature accommodation option. It has two bedrooms with an open-plan lounge and dining room. En-suite bathrooms connect to the bedrooms, and they have a separate guest bathroom. The Master Suite has a spacious balcony that leads off from the dining area and features an uninterrupted view of the Manor House gardens. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, while the second bedroom has either a king or two twin beds depending on your needs.

    Resort Dining

    Henry Whites

    The premier dining venue at Fancourt Resort is Henry Whites. The culinary experience is a must-do when visiting the Resort. Open from Monday to Saturday between 18.30 and 22.30, the restaurant features hearty South African cuisine sourced from local produce. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed and embodies the spirit of Fancourt Resort.

     

    La Cantina Restaurant

    The premium La Cantina Restaurant is open seven days for breakfast and dinner. The Italian restaurant features antipasti, pizza, fish and red meat, soup and delicious desserts. La Cantina’s dress code is smart-casual for dinner and regular attire for breakfast. La Cantina is the choice restaurant for breakfast at Fancourt Resort; even earning Tripadvisor’s certificate of Excellence in 2019.

     

    Monet’s Restaurant

    Elegant yet refined is the best way to classify Monet’s Restaurant at Fancourt Hotel. The French-style bistro serves casual café meals with stunning panoramic views of the Outeniqua golf course and mountain range. Ideal for light lunches, afternoon tea or morning coffee, Monet’s restaurant is open from late morning to late afternoon.

     

    The Club Lounge

    Known colloquially at Fancourt as the 19th hole, the Club Lounge overlooks the 18th hole of the Montagu golf course. Open seven days from 10 AM to midnight, the Club Lounge offers an expansive menu consisting of steaks, burgers, platters and beverages to reinvigorate golfers after their round. Reconvene with friends after a round of golf for a meal, snack or drink at Fancourt’s Club Lounge.

    Resort Facilities

    The Spa

    Fancourt is home to its very own oasis of sensory bliss – an award-winning spa designed to provide guests with a deeply relaxing experience. Its range of holistic skin and body treatments are supplemented by complementary facilities which include a Roman Bath and jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and tepidarium. The Fancourt spa incorporates 11 treatment rooms, including a couples private treatment room, a hydrotherapy room and a shower room. The treatment rooms have been individually designed to accommodate warmth and a soothing aesthetic to which the power of touch adds the perfect finish.

     

    Leisure Centre

    South Africa’s Fancourt Resort features a leisure centre for resort guests not playing golf and looking enjoy themselves. The centre consists of two swimming pools; one outdoor pool with a jacuzzi and one heated indoor pool, both of which are open from 06.00 to 21.00. The poolside café at the Leisure centre provides refreshments and light meals so you can enjoy the sunshine as long as you like.

     

    Tennis

    Guests at Fancourt Resort can enjoy four well-maintained hard-surfaced tennis courts with spectacular mountain views. Two of the courts have floodlights so golfers can play after their round. Complimentary tennis racquets and balls can be attained at the leisure centre.

     

    Fishing

    For the more adventurous and interested guests, there are fishing dams at Fancourt Resort where novice and experienced anglers can engage in a day of fishing for big-mouth black bass on a catch-and-release basis. The leisure centre provides complimentary fishing rods and tackle. A morning round of golf and afternoon fishing at Fancourt Hotel & Resort never sounded more appealing.

     

    Leisure Trails

    For the non-golfers or fitter golfers, Fancourt Resort has various leisure trails for walking, jogging and biking with 2.5km, 5km and 10km loops with paved tracks through gorgeous South African countryside. Flaura, fauna and bird-watching are highlights of the leisure trails.

     

    Gym

    Keep toned and fit at the Fancourt Resort gymnasium. The gym is well-equipped and accessible to all Resort guests. They employ the latest sports technology with Technogym equipment for cardio and weight training. Non-golfers at Fancourt Resort can also enjoy yoga or pilates classes by prior arrangement. The facilities are fantastic with spacious locker rooms for both genders, and elegant areas for guests to relax and reinvigorate after working out.

    Fancourt Resides in South Africa’s southern Garden Route. There is no shortage of activities for the adventurous, or experiences for the foodies.     How to Get There

    The Fancourt Estate is situated in the heart of the Garden Route – one of South Africa’s most iconic tourist attractions. This expanse of organic beauty stretches along the south-east coastline from Mossel Bay to the Storms River in the Eastern Cape. The Outeniqua mountain range is well within view from the vantage point of the Estate. Beyond that, forested regions, lagoons and rolling hills provide visitors with access to all the raw, natural beauty that South Africa has to offer. The Estate itself lies just 7km from George Airport for those travelling by air from Cape Town, Johannesburg or Port Elizabeth. The resort is just under 4-hours’ drive from Port Elizabeth to the East and 4.5-hours from Cape Town in the West.
